AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the formal release, "An unusual confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of forbidden practices and terrifying transformations echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden cult.
The questline focuses on "strange tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Items and Bonus Material
Players who accomplish the quest will receive an special katana alongside multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Update
This release also introduces the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
