An extensive two-month journey circling the Land Down Under has been cancelled in the wake of the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was stranded by the cruise liner on a remote coastal location.

The elderly woman had been trekking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the party for a rest. The vessel departed without her and came back after some time after the personnel discovered the passenger was not present.

An extensive rescue mission discovered her person the next day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the tragedy, together with police and the medical examiner.

Head of the shipping company stated that passengers and personnel on the vessel were told that the rest of the voyage had been terminated due to the "sad loss and earlier mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he mentioned that guests would be provided a total repayment, and said the company was working "to arrange the return journeys of the passengers via specially arranged planes".

"Officials suggested her to head down, alone. Then the ship sailed away, seemingly without conducting a roll call.

"At some stage in that process, or not long after, mother died, by herself."

Via official communication, the CEO affirmed that the company was "cooperating fully with authorities to aid their inquiry".

He said that the company was "very regretful that this has transpired" and had provided its total backing to the family.
